In the eclipse file search invert is missing.....

i.e. while it's great to be able to do "find all files in this project
which include "bob"" it is often just as useful to ask "show me all
files which don't contain "bob"".

A good example is ensuring every file (ranging from XML to Java to html
etc) has at least the first part of a copyright notice.

I have tried using the regex part but I can not see how to ask a "NOT"
question as ! doesn't seem to work (I admit to being a regex hater but
even so...)

e.g. in the file search dialog if I have clicked the regex tickbox, what
regex would work for the simple request:

"show me all files which do NOT contain the word "bob"".

???

TIA
