Conceptually, we like to think of it as completely new, community based
code base. In practical code terms, to be sure to get things moving
quickly, the IBM WTP code contribution will the "starting point" for lots
of things. But, we do want to review, evaluate (and cleanup) each piece as
its put into CVS -- its not that we don't want to do that particular
"development in the open", but we think there will be so much community
based review, evaluation, cleanup, re-design, new function, and new
extensibility *after* its in CVS that it'd just be less confusing to do
one more pass first, and to put it in CVS piece by piece (milestone by
milestone) after we get it a little closer to being a starting point for
the community -- and of course, this process will depend a lot on
community feedback. We'll be developing more detailed milestone plans
soon and publishing those on eclipse webtools.

Maybe this is a good point to emphasize there's more to contribution than
just code -- designs, requirements, priorities, client insights (and bug
reports! :) are all important too -- and many have already contributed in
those areas -- so we are committed to and expect the whole process and the
end-result to be very community based, regardless of where the starting
point code comes from.

I'm sure lomboz users can answer this better than I, but I know one big
area -- big in that is much appreciated by Lomboz users and big in that it
would require some changes to IBM's WTP starting-point part of the code
contribution to incorporate Lomboz's provided function -- is that Lomboz
allows very flexible project layout structures, depending on needs of the
target server and depending on clients pre-existing web projects they want
to import into the tool. So, again, we'll be looking for community
feedback on desired and appreciated functions to guide our more detailed
plans. Thanks.
