Hi - we are just getting started with PDE.
Our plugin needs to edit files with a specific extension (.msg) with a
custom editor in our plugin. We also want the user to be able to create and
edit other
types of file (EG.txt etc) with whatever default editor the platform
provides. Our plugin defines a new perspective in which we include the
common "Navigator" view from the Resource Perspective.
When the user is in the platform's Resource Perspective the menu items
New-Folder and New-File are available in the workbench's File menu. However
when the user is in our plugin's perspective these menu items are not
available. (The cumbersome File-New-Other-Simple-File is available)
So questions:-
1) How do we make those workbench menu items New-Folder and New-File
available to our user when using our perspective?
2) How do we define those actions so that a New-File starts up the usual
"New File" dialog box?
