Cannot connect to my Gmail or MSN accounts [message #1718154] Sun, 20 December 2015 18:22 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
I just installed ECF target components version 3.1.2

I have been trying to connect to my gmail and msn accounts. But no success yet.

When I try to connect to my gmail account, the error I get is:

Connect to emailkayal@gmail.com failed.
Login attempt failed
SASL authentication PLAIN failed: not-authorized

Also, I get "Sign-in attempt prevented" email from google, when I try to do this.

When I try to connect to my MSN account, I get this error:

"Connection refused: connect"

I have found this on google:

Let me try to find out which Smack library we are using.

Cheers,

Wim

Hi,

We are using a correct Smack version [1]. Please upgrade to ECF 3.12 [2]

Cheers,

Wim

Hi Wim,

Thank you very much for your help.

The problem has been solved now.

By Turning ON the Access for less secure apps settings in my gmail account.

But I have not tried to upgrade my ECF.

thanks,
Uma
