with the -clean option, but to no avail. Is there anything to do other than
reinstalling all plugins from scratch?

did you check in Help > Software.. > Manage Configuration? In the
specific install location, check if the plugin/feature has been disabled.
If everything shows up fine over there, check if the plugin is shown in
Help > About area.
What about the .log file?
