3.4 shows NO compatible JREs for ANY execution environment??? [message #269538] Wed, 18 March 2009 14:23 Go to next message

On Gentoo Linux, Eclipse 3.4.0 cannot find any JREs which it considers
compatible with *any* of the predefined execution environments. I
always have to get into the Build Path dialog and select an alternate
JRE (which it has no trouble locating). This gets tedious when
checking out a 26-module Maven project (which I do quite often).

My guess is that Gentoo puts the JREs where Eclipse is not looking.
Where *does* Eclipse look for JREs when building the EE lists? How
can I augment that search path? Or is it some other problem?

In the Preferences, Installed JREs section, what is listed there? Are
they Sun JVMs (not gcj)?
