automatic update configuration [message #264163]

I want to get automatic updates. In install/update preferences I have
selected the options "show all version of available software" & when
selected software for an install wizard is not compatible "ask me what to
do when it happens".

But when I select the help menu--> software updates I get the error message
"cannot launch the update UI.
This installation has not been configured properly for software updates"

What else do I need to configure?

It sounds like you've got an incomplete Eclipse installation somehow.
What, precisely, did you download and install?
