When I tried to build eclipse under SunOS, it throws error message like

[javac] The system is out of resources.
[javac] Consult the following stack trace for details.

and then a stack of errors.

The machine that I was working on has four CPUs and 4GB memory, supposedly
good enough for any regular software compiling.

Here is the machine info

$ uname -a
SunOS brain 5.6 Generic_105181-26 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-4

It's difficult to determine the problem without seeing the error stacks.
One point worth mentioning though is that eclipse's supported sun os is
Solaris >= 8 , which could cause you problems (ie.- the motif libraries on
your box may be too old).
