Birt 2.1.1 to Birt 2.2.1 report migration problem [message #259532] Thu, 25 October 2007 17:22 Go to next message

I had a report in Birt 2.1.1 that was using groups at three levels. For
displaying the count of level 3 and level 1 and grand count Total.count(3),
Total.count(1), Total.runningCount(1) were used.

The report when run in Birt 2.2.1 always shows the grand total at group
levels too.

Please look at the attached images to get a more clear understanding.

Can anyone please tell what is the recommended way to arrive at the group
level counts in Birt 2.2.1?

One thing that I noticed in the expression builder was that the Total
sub-category in Birt Functions was missing (please see the attached
screenshot)

Also, the problem is there when the report is run from inside of the app
server as well as from the designer.

The environment in which I tried this is WAS 6.0.2.19/jdk 1.4.2.
The designer environment I tried is Birt designer 2.2.1 with project
execution environment of jre 1.4.2 as well as jre 5.

Thanks
Rahul

Rahul,

You can use the Aggregation item in the Palette view to realize
Total.count(3), Total.count(1), Total.runningCount(1) in BIRT 2.2.1.
Attahced are reports designed in BIRT 2.1.1 and 2.2.1. Hope these can help.

thanks,

Xiaodan

Xiaodan

I used the counts based on the attachments that you provided. It indeed
worked.

Thanks
Rahul
