MyLyn hides APIs when jar not present? [message #259395] Fri, 27 June 2008 08:41

Does MyLyn hide methods when the classes involved in these methods are
missing from the classpath?

The other day, I spent almost an hour trying to figure out why suddenly an
object was missing a few critical methods that had been there for a long
time. I tried different versions of the jars that defined the class of that
object, but to no avail. Then finally it occurred to me what's missing was
actually a different jar containing the return class of these methods.

If this was an intentional design, it is very misleading.
