I am a beginner user, and I don't know what a JRE or JDK is. Also does anyone recommend a good JRE or JDK. And finally, I'm a general computer user. Is this something that I most likely already have on my computer and I don't know about it?

I just started this job as a computer tutor so I need to learn java, CPP and C# asap so i can help students, and I am just beginning to learn about JAVA.

Thanks,
David

JRE is Java Runtime Environment, JDK is Java Development Kit.

JRE is a part of JDK. JRE it the minimum of Java support you
need in your computer to run Eclipse.

As you want also to program in Java, you'll need JDK.

The original Java (Sun Microsystems, now owned by Oracle)
is available at <https://java.com/en/download/>. Pick a JDK
that matches your computer and operating system and follow
the instructions at the download site.

For C/C++, there is a package, CDT, for Eclipse. You're taking
a pretty big bite, so please start with Java and continue to
other languages and toolsets when you're at home with Java
and Eclipse for Java.
