authenication I could not use the install/update feature in 2.1.3. It
hasn't the acapabilty to authenticate on the proxy server. Wil it be

yes.
Make sure you use jdk 1.4.2_03 or newer

After upgrading jdk from 1.4.0 to 1.4.2 it works out of the box on 2.1.3
and 3.0
