I'm using RC2. I used an external application to do some global find and
replace. The problem is that eclipse CVS doesn't recognized the
changes...even if I do a refresh. I have to go in and manually touch the
files to be able to have the dirty flag appear. I have the checkbox for use
file contents in comparison checked, but this is obviously not working.

This is a bug:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=54971

Unfortunately the developers decided for a WONTFIX, which I did not
quite understand because I think that it is a conceptual error.

Probably you should keep on bugging them, too.

This isn't exactly the same problem. Closing and opening the project and
workspace most definately did NOT fix this problem. I had to go touch all
200 files to get them to be recognized.
