Class not found - Source from required project with Mac OS X [message #254106] Wed, 16 April 2008 21:33

I am migrating to a Mac (OS X 10.5.2) and I'm in the process of setting up
my dev environment on my new machine. I've installed eclipse and checked
out my projects from subclipse. All seems good except.....

I have a problem running a class as Java Application on the mac. On my
windows machine the class runs fine. The project is dependent on the
source from three other projects. At build time there are no problems,
however at run time it can't find the classes of the "required" project.

Some hours of investigation found that the point of difference can be
found in the "Run/Debug Settings" on the "Source" tab.

* Eclipse running on windows includes the source of the "required"
projects under "Default".
* Eclipse running on the mac does not include the source from the
"required" projects at all.

I have tried a couple of things:-
i) I manually added the "required projects" under the "Source" tab in
Run/Debug settings. It didn't help.

ii) I tried to add the "required projects" to the "Classpath" tab in the
Run/Debug settings. It lets me add the projects and apply the changes
but they don't stick. The projects have disappeared from the "Classpath"
when I go back into the setting.

I would appreciate any advice.
John
