The documentation for Eclipse at "Discovering branch and version tags" is
not clear.

What are the implications of:
(1) adding checked tabs to the list of remembered tags
(2) adding remembered tags to the selected repository location or project

What is the purpose of this?
Do they cause a change to the repository?
Are they used by people using the repository, and if so how?

Thank you

No, those things only affect your local Eclipse configuration, not the
repository. In general, Eclipse will only change the repository when you
explicitly tell it to do so (via a Commit or adding a project to the
repository).

Those functions just store data about the tags locally so you don't have
to go through this process frequently.

Hope this helps,
Eric
