I was extolling the virtures of the eclipse IDE to a friend/colleague
who is a windows programmer. He asked if Eclipse can be used with the
MFC, which is what he primarily uses. ???

I've search the archives for an answer to this, but didn't find one.
MFC is mentioned numerous times, but i see nothing definite.

Not sure what your friend is speaking about but why would he do that? MFC
for Java is MS-Java which is not supported anymore. This will never be
possible with Eclipse JDT (modified syntax).

If he means developing with the MFC C/C++ framework than he is free to use
the CDT plugins. But this is for developing C/C++ applications.
