formatting annotations [message #245518] Wed, 11 July 2007 14:58 Go to next message

Are there any plans to add formatting options for annotations? I'm using
Xwork validation annotations, which can be very long and quite nested.
The current auto code-formatter will mangle those quite badly, scrunching
most onto one, very long, line. Incidentally, I'm using Europa.

Related to this, are there any plugins that could solve the problem? I'm
not opposed to running the regular code-formatter, than applying a second
level formatter that handles just annotations.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
there is some work being done with annotations formatting. Please look
at this entries:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=109926
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=160346

You can vote on this bugs, add yourself to CC to be informed on updates,
share your comments or contribute an implementation, which would really
speed up the process.

Also if you have any idea how they should be formatted, please annotate
the bug reports.
