Question on security for mirroring update site [message #243455] Tue, 18 December 2007 06:01
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi,
I'm investigating the possiblity of setting up an internal mirror site for
a larger organisation. The organization have some security concerns which
I need to address. We need to be sure that we download from the correct
host (using PGP signing) and be assured the files are not tampered with on
the way (using MD5 checksum, for example). I have been searching the
Eclipse site without finding any discussions on the subject of mirroring
update site and security. Therefore I try to ask the question here: Is it
possible to use PGP signing and MD5 when mirroring with rsync from
Eclipse?

Best regards,
Carin Ohlsson
