Eike,

I've tried to encourage the webmaster to provide search links for all
the place the website directs people to newsgroups or mailing lists.

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=199419

I think this would help reduce the number of duplicate questions and
would encourage people to reuse existing information. I would encourage
others to vote for this...

I prefer to use Google, with a site-specific query like
"site:dev.eclipse.org java5" (searches just dev.eclipse.org for the term
"java5")
