When I am launching the debugger Eclipse shows a message on the right
bottom stating "lauching x %". This takes anywhere up to 30 mins for me. I
have no idea what Eclipse is doing during this launching. How can I find
out what is going on?

thanks.

Is it building before the launch?
Open the progress view and see what is happening

Harry,

Ctrl-Break can help show what all the threads are doing.

Should have mentioned....
to turn off build before launch
Window>Preferences>Run/Debug>Launching> Build (if required) before launching

This tip has been very useful for me. This will be a real time saver for
me. I already tried this out. I can now launch remote debug sessions
instantaneously.

Thanks!!!!
