does anyone know an easy way of creating a diagram editor without having the
diagram file created or the diagram information stored.
I.e., I would like to have a diagram in memory only (having domain changed
saved to the domain file and diagram changes not stored).

Hello Soeren,

Try creating EMF resource for the diagram with some "fake" URI specified
like: "http://www.myDomain.com/myProject/myDiagram".
