Unable to open visual parts [message #209044] Thu, 07 July 2005 06:52 Go to next message

I get several errors saying "Create Remote VM for Visual Editor for Java"
when trying to open any visual parts with Eclipse 3.1.

I applied all updates/patches I could find, but still I get the error. This
is a project I'm trying to pull forth from Eclipse 3.02.

What can I do to solve it?

Thanks,

Normand

You probably didn't upgrade your VE. The VE 1.0.x does not work with
3.1. You need to upgrade VE to 1.1 (the I20050630 driver) download zip
(since it is still a development driver it is not available through
update manager), plus the Eclipse 3.1 final release, EMF 2.1 final
release should work, and the GEF 3.1RC4 download.

Yep that did it.

I had thought Eclipse 3.1 was smart enough to download the appropriate
plugins, so I just let it do its thing.

Many thanks,

Norm
