Hi, this problem has been plaguing me for a very long time, across many
versions of BIRT. I can never understand why nobody else seems to have this
problem. Now I'm trying out 2.2.1 and getting the same problem I always
have. Following the instructions
(http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/deploy/viewerSetup.php) and installing
the sample web viewer out-of-the-box, I'll get an error message from any
charts I have and the charts won't display. The error message will be about
missing some classes like; datasetprocessorimpl or pngrenderimpl. I can
resolve the problem by copying the following files from platform/plugins to
lib.
org.eclipse.birt.chart.device.extension_2.2.0.v20061211-0630 .jar
org.eclipse.birt.chart.engine.extension_2.2.0.v20061211-0630 .jar
org.eclipse.birt.chart.engine_2.2.0.v20061211-0630.jar
The fact that this is not and has never been in the install instructions and
the fact that nobody else seems write about it worries me that I'm doing
something wrong or unecessary.
Could somebody set me straight? Thank you.

Hi, yes, I'm using Tomcat 5.5. However, the viewer is in the default
webapps directory. To eliminate all variables possible, I'm trying this
with just a standard install exactly as the instructions state. Do you know
the bug ID you submitted?
