Is it possible to get eclipse working on windows x64 (in my case vista)
with j2se 1.6 x64? (I'm guessing it would work with j2se x86 but I'd
prefer to get it on x64 if possible)

Here is a snip of the log, is it possible to change the bootloader
options or cl args to get it to run properly?

java.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc.
BootLoader constants: OS=win32, ARCH=x86, WS=win32, NL=en_GB

Have you downloaded eclipse for 64bit platform?

The error shows that no.... (swt-win32-3236.dll).

Chris

I couldn't find a 64bit version for windows, one page I found somewhere
on the site said eclipse on 64bit is still only in testing on linux (I
have it on my fedora core 6 x86_64 box, but I don't know if I have it as
x86 or x64)

I wasn't sure if somehow changing those arguments might force it to
search for a different dll instead.

I believe that changing arguments will not help (I doubt if it is
possible even).

If it were so easy, we would have distro for win 64 ;).

Chris

Eclipse 3.2.1 had "early access" versions for Windows 64bit. See here:
http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.2.1- 200609210945/

I am not sure why these downloads disappeared in the latest 3.2.2
release....

Anyway - another option is to use a 32-bit JVM and a 32-bit Eclipse on
Windows x64. It should work.

Thanks,
Asaf
