Differences between cdt-master-4.0.0.zip and update manager release [message #199692] Sat, 18 August 2007 07:37 Go to next message

Hi,

There seems to be a difference between installing cdt-master-4.0.0.zip and
the release installed via the update managed.

When using cdt-master-4.0.0.zip, the PATH environment variable does not get
set when you create a project, the scanner info generator fails to start and
you get Exec errors: when trying to build. Adding the PATH variable manually
doesn't seem to fix these failures.

Also, I've notices that when using the cdt-master-4.0.0.zip version, when
creating a new C project, a Test Page appears at the end of the wizzard,
which doesn't happen in the update manager version.

Cheers,
Jon

It seems you need to unpack then delete:
org.eclipse.cdt.core.win32_4.0.0.200706261300.jar

This is just a result of having the extra cdt-test plugins.

Cheers,
Jon

Did you use the update manager to install from the cdt-master-4.0.0.zip?
That zip is an archived update site, so shouldn't just be extracted into
your eclipse installation.

I just unziped it. My mistake.
