I hope I will be clear enough. I am fairly new to eclipse and completely
new to eclipse plug-in development.
Recently I have decided to develop a plug-in which implements new
toolchain for ARM. Everything I have done was by example from
org.eclipse.cdt.managedbuilder.gnu.ui plug-in, especially
org.eclipse.cdt.managedbuilder.core.buildDefinitions extension
implementation.
Among other things I want to change the discovery profile so it will
invoke different compiler invocation command.
I want to change invocation from "gcc -E -P -v -dD
${plugin_state_location}/specs.c"
to the toolchain's compiler invocation like "ccarm -E -P -v -dD
${plugin_state_location}/specs.c"
I figured out that this is done by implementing
org.eclipse.cdt.make.core.ScannerConfigurationDiscoveryProfi le extension.
After that I just have to refer to this extension from compiler
(inputType)/scannerConfigDiscoveryProfileId.
But when I do that it seems that it has the same effect as if my
ScannerConfigurationDiscoveryProfile extension is not used at all. There
is no change to discovery profile invocation command! Even worse, I get
the same result if I enter completely bogus text to
scannerConfigDiscoveryProfileId field.
What am I doing wrong? I just can't figure it out.
Does any of you plug-in gurus know what I am missing?
I have attached my plug-in project if anyone is willing to take a look
at it.
