using report library and report engine API [message #198413] Tue, 31 October 2006 12:17 Go to next message

I have created a simple report and a report library
- The report library has a report item which is an embedded image
- The simple report takes no parameter and has a master page that uses
the image report item of the report library

I have modified the sample ExcuteReport.java posted on BIRT WIKI RE API
to run my report. The output HTML file looks good except that the image
is not included in the report. How do I tell the report engine where to
find the report library? Note that I am not running in a Web
Application server.

Many thanks,
Ling

Using the EngineConfig class do this:
config.setResourcePath("c:/mybirtresources/");

Jason:

Thanks for your prompt response. It works after I set the resource path.

I have another report which uses charts created in the same library.

When I run this report, none of the charts is shown in the report. What
do I have to do to make this report work?

Many thanks,
Ling

I am using IE 6.0 which does not support a native SVG plugin. If I
switch to Firefox 1.5.x, my report with charts can be displayed correctly.

Many thanks,
Ling

You can also set the chart output to something else or download the SVG
viewer from Adobe.
