What happened before this is that I was trying to run some java tool.
And, I issued the java - version and set classpath command in a particular folder which may have caused this.

Any help is appreciated!

Have you ever installed Java on this system? If so, try launching Eclipse from a command line window with the -vm switch directing it to the real java.exe, which should be somewhere other than under the Windows directory. If not, get the latest 32-bit Java and make sure you update to at least Indigo SR2.
