Birt Capabilities? [message #185011] Tue, 15 August 2006 10:44 Go to next message

Hello, I'm new to BIRT. I was wondering if BIRT is able to generate a
chart dynamically; where the user will input data thru a JSP and then hit
a submit button and the servlet will display the data in a chart.
Thank you very much for your help.

Sincerely
Yeri Fer

Yes, this is supported. A good place to start is to download the chart
engine from the BIRT web site, you will get an examples plugin. In that
plugin, there is a "preferences" example which is a JSP page displaying a
chart, and you can change some of the chart settings on the Web page, then
regenerate the chart. You just have to change the code to input data instead
and pass it to the chart engine.

Thanks,

David
