Hi,
I am new to Eclipse, and am trying to install it.
I downloaded Eclipse from www.yoxos.com, but did not see a readme file
that provides guidance about the installation. I gather the application
will just download to the correct directory after I double clicked on it?
Am I right?
In the newsgroup I read that it is necessary to download Java JDK
separately. Can someone tell me in which directory should the Java JDK be
installed?
Thanks a lot!

I'm not familiar with the Yoxos distributions, but I can tell you that
you can just need to install the JDK wherever you want (personally, I
don't like using the default location of c:\Program Files\..... on
Windows; I have a D:\Java\JDK directory where I put all JDK versions).
Eclipse can find the JDK/JRE automatically, but it is recommended to
explicitly tell Eclipse what to use by using the -vm command-line
argument to eclipse.exe
See this page: http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/FAQ_How_do_I_run_Eclipse%3 F
Hope this helps,
Eric
