I am looking at developing set of plugins for managing a portfolio of
architecture elements such as applications, servers, environments and so
on. I would like to be able to model these relationships in a graphical
manner and then persist the data to a database or xml to be read back in

the best for this, the EMF or the GEF. It would be similar to class
diagrams but include an much wider array of architectural elements. Can
someone help?
