Java Project Wizard could not be started [message #169397] Mon, 19 July 2004 17:03 Go to next message

I am trying to use Eclipse for the first time.
I have built Eclipse from source, using
eclipse-sourceBuild-srcFetch-3.0.zip from the R-3.0-200406251208
directory, keeping close to the srcFetchBuildInstructions.html in that
directory. The command line I used was
./build -os linux -ws gtk -arch amd64.
When I start Eclipse, everything looks fine to me. But when I try to
create a new (Java) project or pull one of my projects from CVS, I get the
following error:

The selected wizard could not be started.

Reason:
Plug-in org.eclipse.jdt.ui was unable to load class
org.eclipse.jdt.internal.ui.wizards.JavaProjectWizard.

I figure the source build did nout build the SDK, although it says so in
the build instructions, but only the runtime. (platform, isthat the
correct term?)

Am I correct? If so, what can I do to build the full SDK? If not, what
else is wrong?

TIA
Helge

Ensure that you build the Eclipse SDK and not the Platfrom SDK.
