Tomcat Integration issues [message #163946] Tue, 14 March 2006 18:41 Go to next message

Why do I have to "deploy" to the server installed on my machine? It's all
on my hard drive, is there a way to avoid the 60-second delay to shuffle
my files around?

I tried the counter-intuitive approach of using the "Add External Web App"
button on the web modules tab, but Tomcat couldn't parse my listener
information from the web.xml.

Is there another approach here supported by the WTP?

Hi,

Usually you only need to deploy once; after that Eclipse keeps the
deployed state up-to-date automatically and with recent versions of WTP
this doesn't take long.
Sadly however the server deployment code within Eclipse is so buggy
currently that this hardly ever works right but for the simplest of
projects...

You may want to try "experimental" tomcat plugin

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=124914

It has few limitations, but should work for most webapps.
