Has anyone used BIRT's IRR function (Total.irr or Finance.irr)? I have a
table on the report with one of the columns listing the values of cash
flows each month (say column name is called cash_flow). In the footer of
the table, when I place a data item and give it the expression -
Total.irr(row["cash_flow"], 0.1) - it doesn't seem to produce the desired
IRR result (I get a result of -1, when the result I am looking for is
about 47% based on the cash flows I set up).

If my table is able to capture the cash flows in one column of the table
(listing by month, say), and if I want to report the IRR of such a series
of cash flows in the footer of the same table, how do I go about producing
this result.

Thanks in advance for your time.
