Hi,

I'm having problems building the nightly CVS fetch of Eclipse.

I'm using Linux on a x86 architecture. To be precise:

malte@fuchur:~> uname -a
Linux fuchur 2.4.20-4GB-athlon #1 Wed Aug 6 18:27:52 UTC 2003 i686 unkno=
wn =

unknown GNU/Linux

I have:
* Ant 1.6beta2
* Java 2 SDK 1.4.2_01
* CVS 1.11.5
* 6685860 bytes of free space (~ 6.7 gig)

When I tried to run this:

fuchur:~/arc/eclipse/buildScripts # ./build -os linux -ws gtk -arch x86

It did all sort of things for a while, and then exited with:

build.jars:

properties:

init:

build.sources:

properties:

init:

pdeuisrc.zip:

BUILD FAILED
/root/arc/eclipse/buildScripts/plugins/org.eclipse.pde.ui/bu ild.xml:68: =

/root/arc/eclipse/buildScripts/plugins/org.eclipse.pde.ui/sa ndbox not =

found.

Total time: 30 minutes 22 seconds

Then I tried to use motif instead of gtk (I removed the previous =

buildScripts/ directory first and unpacked a new one):

fuchur:~/arc/eclipse/buildScripts # ./build -os linux -ws motif -arch x8=
6

But I got the same error after a while:

build.jars:

properties:

init:

build.sources:

properties:

init:

pdeuisrc.zip:

BUILD FAILED
/root/arc/eclipse/buildScripts/plugins/org.eclipse.pde.ui/bu ild.xml:68: =

/root/arc/eclipse/buildScripts/plugins/org.eclipse.pde.ui/sa ndbox not =

found.

Total time: 28 minutes 47 seconds

I searched for this error with Google and on eclipse.org, but I couldn't=
=

find that problem mentioned anywhere, so this is why I'm asking here :-)=

Now that I write this mail, I note that I do not have motif-devel =

installed. Is this necessary to build eclipse with motif? Note that I ha=
ve =

motif installed, though. I do have gtk, gtk-devel, gtk2, and gtk2-devel,=
=

also, so I don't think installing motif-devel would solve the problem =

anyways.

I was using eclipse-sourceBuild-srcFetch-N20031118.zip when I did all =

this. I see there is a newer version now, but I guess that's not the =

problem either.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Greetings,

Malte
