Peter,

There are two general ways in which this can be done:
A. (Requires less work) Use a BIRT scripted datasource to programmatically
access a given Cognos cube from a given BIRT Report. The following URLs

B. (Requires more work) Extend BIRT with using the Open Data Access (ODA)
Extension API
In this way you can allow any Cognos Cube to be accessed from any BIRT
report in a generic fashion. You will be able to find more info on how to
extend BIRT in an Addison-Wesley book called "Integrating and Extending
BIRT" which should become available in the next few weeks. Another good
source of info is to monitor the postings in this forum and the BIRT Eclipse
website.
