build BIRT outside of eclipse? [message #157329]

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to build BIRT exclusively
from the command line (i.e. outside of eclipse)? I've followed the
instructions on the web to get it built using eclipse, but we need to
automate the BIRT build process so that it can easily be invoked from
our own build.xml.

Some of the Build*.xml files mention a "top level build script", but I
couldn't find it anywhere. Does any one know what this refers to or
have any other pointers about how to do this? Thanks.

Nevermind. I was being very stupid. BuildWebViewer.xml in
org.eclipse.birt.report.viewer/ does the trick.

I'm trying to build BIRT from the command line as well. I want to build
from the head revision, so I have that checked out. Whenever I run the
build, I get an error that says

BUILD FAILED
....\workspace\org.eclipse.birt.report.viewer\BuildWebViewer .xml:252: The
following error occurred while executing
this line:
....\workspace\org.eclipse.birt.re
port.engine\BuildEngine.xml:220:
....\workspace\org.eclipse.birt.report.engine\plugins not found.

The plugins directory does not exist in what I have checked out. I'm not
sure if I have missed something from the repository, as I am not very
familiar with CVS, or if the build is just broken in the current development
version.

Can anyone help?

hey if you build BIRT in eclipse can you help
i am unable to build BIRT in eclipse , i have followed
the following link to build BIRT

http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/build/buildInstructions. php

but i think this is 100% stable document
