Both can be used on either system - it depends on what windowing system
you want to use. GTK has certain requirements (check
http://eclipsewiwi.swiki.net) but without tweaking the more pleasant
appearance.

Use the gtk one for redhat8/9. I run the gtk version on Redhat 9 and
love it. Motif is way old school and looks like crap by today's
standards. Eclipse is on M4 these days, you may want to redownload and
get a newer version.
