setting ANT command line options in 3.0 M8 [message #156263] Wed, 28 April 2004 00:15 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi all,

I would think I would see a spot to set an option like -verbose when I call
up the External Tools dialog and go through the tabs there....but I don't.
Online help doesn't seem to address the topic either. Please tell me what
I'm missing!

Thanks in advance,
- Eric

btw - NetBeans has a very nice integration with Ant that's pretty intuitive
and very helpful. It knows how to automatch your xml tags, pick up errors by
highlighting them, and has some useful tool options (preferences) for
setting Ant in general. Eclipse does sooo much more in general of course,
but I do seem to see lots of questions about Ant here. Oh well, it's past my
bedtime (thank God, right :-)...ciao

These would be set in the Arguments text area on the main tab

I am really open to ideas on how to improve Eclipse's Ant integration.
I have not used NetBeans but from your description I believe we have all the
features that you list:
Code completion for pretty much any of the Ant proposals you could want
including closing end tags.
Error and warning annotations for problems within the buildfile
We have more preferences than you can shake a stick at :-)

Which Eclipse build are you using?
The only way I can implement the missing features or fix the bugs is if you
log a bug report.
Then I can say we already have it or indicate when we will have it :-)

Thanks for the feedback,
Darins

I guess I should read the subject a little more thoroughly :-)

Well THAT was easy :-) Thanks for the fast reply and good info.
Is there a place that I can view upcoming/proposed features? I'm still
feeling my way around the whole Eclipse experience.

Cheers,

- Eric
