BIRT perspective is not available with latest eclipse and birt installaion [message #153847]

Hello,

Today I have tried to install the latest version of eclipse, emf, gef and
birt including the following

eclipse-SDK-3.2RC5-win32
emf-sdo-xsd-SDK-2.2.0RC5
GEF-runtime-3.2RC3
birt-report-framework-sdk-2.1RC3a
itext-1.4.jar
prototype.js

But the BIRT perspective is not available to select. Even if I started
eclipse with c:\program files\eclipse.exe -clean

Can anyone try to do the same and tell me why it's not available?

And all the above mentioned versions can be downloaded through
http://download.eclipse.org/birt/downloads/

By the way, I have the previous version - BIRT 2.0.1 under Eclipse 3.1.2 -
working properly.

Most of the focus of late has been on the "Callisto Release". That might
mean you'll have better success downloading and installing the Eclipse
3.2RC5 Platform runtime binary and then using the Help => Software
Updates => Find and Install... feature to install what you want from the
Callisto update site (it will be on the list when you go to "Search for
new features to install" via that capability).

Just a suggestion until someone from BIRT-land shows up to answer the
original question based on actual knowledge of the situation! :-)

I installed birt-report-designer-all-in-one-2.1RC3a.zip and it's ok now.
