RAP design in e4 [message #139525] |

Dear RAP developers!
Please be so kind to help me grasp the basic ideas how RAP is designed to
work with e4.
As I understand, e4 supports rich internet applications with the help of
Adobe Flex. Will an e4 RIA run as a single Actionscript application (as
GWT is a single Javascript application), or will it run in the RAP style
(application logic on the server, only components running as Flash widgets
on the client)?
One of the big advantages of RAP compared to GWT is that only RAP
developers need not share the application logic with their users. I hope
this separation is implemented in e4, too.
On http://wiki.eclipse.org/E4 I have not found a document that helps me
understand how RIAs in e4 are designed, especially with respect to RAP.
Please tell me, where I can find a short, non-Flex-expert overview of the
design?
The most important question right now is: Can I already test RAP in e4
today without lots of hacking? If so, please name the steps for a simple
tutorial.
I'll be extremely grateful!
Mario

Mario,
in e4 there is SWT/BE (Browser Edition) that provides SWT that is
compiled to ActionScript, thus similar to GWT in that it runs
entirely in the browser. However, developments seems to be
discontinued.
The first experiments of e4 running on RAP can be found here:
