Hi,
I have installed Eclipse V2.1.2 and j2sdk1.4.2_03 under Windows 98.
When starting Eclipse I use the -vm option with the correct path.
When I click on File->New->Project I am only offered 'simple' as possible
projects. How can I create java projects or plug-in development projects?
Thanks for all answers.

You need to download the Eclipse SDK, not the Eclipse Platform only.

Are you sure that you don't have a Platform drop? It doesn't contain
the JDT components.
Also check in your .metadata directory if you don't have something in
your .log file.

Now I have detected the problem. I missed the minor fact that there is a
difference between the two Eclipse V2.1.2 links on the download page
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/index.php (and the german mirror).
The build date of both links is exactly the same which suggests that it
doesnŽt matter which one to choose. I happended to chooose the wrong one.
I think it would be a good idea to mention the difference on download page.
Does anyone know, where I can e-mail this suggestion?
