Hello,
we are evaluating a migration of our RCP update mechanism to p2, the
sticky point being we need the ability to update programmatically.
Since i cannot find the documentation to Gallileo, it would be nice to
know before the official release whether there is going to be an API for
p2 (even, a provisional one), as used by Eclipse.
Thank you.

There is provisional p2 API in 3.5. There are also command line tools
that you can use to perform installs, uninstalls, and updates. A good
starting point would be to look at the IDirector API in bundle
org.eclipse.equinox.p2.director.
