Hi,
I am an IDEA user like to try eclipse. I love to maintain my java projects
by myself ant maven using vi for simple editing and so on.
Under IDEA I could create the project very easily and she wouldn't touch
my filesystem - just creates two xml files, which is ok- but under eclipse
I couldn't figure out how can I it. Simply I want to change a java project
directory with ant and maven to an eclipse projects and I don't want to
mess it and loose control of it.

The easiest thing would probably be for you to create a new java project
from within eclipse and use the "create project from existing source
option". That way, eclipse will only add a .project and .classpath file to
your project directory, and it should be able to make most of the source
path configuration on its own. Of course, just to be careful, it might be a
good idea to try this first on a copy of your current project.
