can't launch JBoss 3.2.3 as a Generic server in WTP 0.7RC1 w/Eclipse3.1 [message #124789] Fri, 22 July 2005 11:04 Go to next message

Hi,
I've configured a generic launch within WTP 0.7RC1 and Eclipse 3.1 for =

launching my app from within JBoss3.2.3. When I launch the server from =

within WTP,
JBoss and my app go through their normal annunciation sequence, includin=
g =

the obligatory "JBoss (MX MicroKernel) [3.2.3 (build: CVSTag=3DJBoss_3_=
2_3 =

date=3D200311301445)] Started in 1m:35s:440ms" message. However, after a=
=

minute or so, WTP decides that the server failed to start and kills the =
=

process.

Anyone seen an issue similar to this before or have ideas on how to =

troubleshoot/fix this issue?
thanks,
Vik

Vik,
I suspect the port your server is set to start and the port you
configure wtp to query if server started does not match. Can you check
that they match?

Hi Gorkem,
That sounds like a likely culprit. I'm somewhat ingenuous when it comes =
to =

WTP config files, any idea where the configuration
for the query port parameter is stored? Is the query port the same as th=
e =

http port? I have my JBoss server's http port set to 8080, the same thin=
g =

as the "port" property in the jboss323.serverdef file, viz below, but it=
=

doesn't seem to help.
<property id=3D"port"
label=3D"%serverPort"
type=3D"string"
context=3D"server"
default=3D"8080" />
thanks,
Vik

the query port is the http port. You should choose the same port as your
server configuration.
