Missing Data Sources [message #122853] Wed, 01 February 2006 14:40 Go to next message

I just installed BIRT 2.0 and discovered after the install that the only
data source available when I create a new data source is "Scripted Data
Source." Where is "Classic Models Inc.", JDBC etc. ?

Hi Mark,

I had a similar problem but I discovered I hadn't installed correctly. I
reinstalled and then started Eclipse with the -clean option.

Also, just confirm that you do have the two default drivers in the right
location:
eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_2.0.0:
derby.jar
oda-jdbc.jar

Good luck.

Interesting, I simply restarted Eclipse and data sources appeared!

Mark,

That's good to hear. Eclipse caches information/resources that plugins use,
which can be quite helpful. It is also a pain when you forget that you have
to restart Eclipse with the -clean option when you add new drivers.
