Do transparent .pngs work in any 3.0 builds?

I use 2.1.1 and my transparent .pngs have a black or white background instead
of transparent. (in buttons, in tables, everywhere..)

Is it a transparent PNG (a particular RGB value is defined to be the
transparent value) or a PNG with alpha information? Alpha transparency is
not supported in buttons etc. If you're not sure, please open a PR and
attach your PNG file. As a workaround, GIF can be used to avoid this
confusion as this format only support transparency, not alpha.

Is alpha transparency support planed to be added? I would jump in squares
if I can use it ;)

Open a bugzilla report with the PNG or nothing will happen.

The dupe of the above bug [1] has been "New" for over 12
months, so if anyone else out there gets the transparency
problem and needs full Alpha-PNG support, please VOTE for
[1] it and it may get on the radar of things that are desired.

It's up to 22 votes (#11 in rank).
