How to use Equinox p2 in Eclipse 3.4 m7 [message #110184] Fri, 16 May 2008 12:21 Go to next message

Hi,

I would like to try out p2 and therefore downloaded Eclipse 3.4 m7. In
order to use the new provisioning infrastructure. I've created a plugin
project and added some p2 libraries to my manifest.mf.

The problem is that every time I'm trying to use some p2
Interfaces/Classes I get a "Discouraged Acces" warning due to restrictions
on required library?! If I ignore the warnings my application won't start
due to an exception.

What am I doing wrong? How can I get rid of the warnings and use p2?

p2 does not have an official API yet. We only have a provisional API
(packaged are marked as such) because we don't believe we could get this API
right before getting some early adopters feedback.
So for now, your only hope is to disable the warning in your java project
preferences.
