The latest GEF build (I20031204 :
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/gef/downloads/drops/I-I200 31204-200312041631/index.php)
is M5 compatible.

Note that there is an earlier build on the same day that is broken (and
hence won't work).

I tried installing the latest GEF integration build (I20031218) in
3.0M5, and failed. I unzipped it in the Eclipse base directory, as I
used to for 2.1.x, but neither the GEF feature nor the plugins appear in
the configuration manager.

Is there anything special I have to do in order to get the current
integration builds installed in 3.0M5?

Also, if I have my own feature that is declared to be "compatible" with
GEF 2.1.1, will it be installable with GEF 3.0, or will the platform
reject it?

Thanks,
JPL

If you specify a version tag, the plug-in will be disabled due to non-exist
prerequisites.

Hello Jan,

I got the latest working integration build and the latest GEF
integration build. GEF did not show up in the config manager.
The only way I could get around this was to delete the .config folder
and started eclipse and this time GEF showed up in the config manager.

Regards Chhil

Thanks for the reply.

It turned out to be simpler in my case: the feature, for some reason,
was installed in "disabled" state. So I had to click on the "Show
disabled features" icon in configuration manager and manually "Enable"
the GEF feature. After that, the usual "Do you want to restart?" dialog
appeared - which in 2.1.x normally pops up at the first startup when
Eclipse detects new features. Perhaps this procedure was changed in 3.0.
