File encoding detection in the FileSystemCrawler [message #794] Thu, 26 March 2009 05:18
Eclipse UserFriend
Hi,

I had problems crawling UTF-8 files containg a byte order mark (BOM).

I opened a new bugzilla call and provided a patch (resp. an extension)
for the FileSystemCrawler:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=270087

It worked for me, but I'm not sure if there is an easier way to find out
the encoding - if someone knows a util class for that, please let me
know (and adapt the patch).

Best regards,
Andreas
